INCHAM’s REPRESENTATIVES JOINED CONFERENCE ON FDI

On the morning of May 15, Vietnam Investment Review held the conference “Strong Investment Partnerships for a Thriving Vietnam.” InCham’s representatives, Mr. Indronil Sengupta - Chairman and Mr. Ton Sinh Thanh - Executive Director, joined the event.

The conference was organized amid ever-stronger competition among developing countries in attracting foreign investment, with foreign investment inflows forecast to decline in 2023.

With four keynote speeches and two-panel discussions, the event covered success stories, lessons to learn, future plans, and possible solutions to welcome new investments across a range of sectors nationwide.

At the conference, Mr. Ton Sinh Thanh - InCham’s Executive Director, on behalf of the Chamber, received a recognition trophy for fostering foreign investment in Vietnam.

The economic relations between India and Vietnam have been steadily growing over the past four decades, including business and investment activities. According to Vietnam’s Foreign Investment Agency, as of December 2022, India has 349 valid projects with total invested capital of more than US$ 1 billion in Vietnam, ranking 24th among countries and territories investing in Vietnam.

InCham is proud to be one of the organizations supporting Indian investors in exploring opportunities and setting their feet in Vietnam. Bilateral trade has risen from US$ 200 million in 2000 to US$ 15 billion in 2022, a new record. We believe this trend will continue in the coming time and InCham will put all our efforts into supporting the development of bilateral trade between the two countries.
