Minda Vietnam Automative Co., Ltd (Spark Minda) is a 100% Indian-owned enterprise headquartered in Binh Xuyen industrial park, Binh Xuyen district, Vinh Phuc province. After more than 10 years in Vinh Phuc, Spark Minda Vietnam has always affirmed its brand as a successful production - business enterprise in the province and carried out many volunteering activities, contributing to the community, towards the general development of the society. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, Vinh Phuc Foreign Affairs Bulletin has an interview with Mr. Sarvesh Gupta - General Director of Minda Vietnam Automative Co., Ltd.

Reporter: Would you please share some information about the company, the targets and trategies of Spark Minda in the coming time

Mr. Sarvesh Gupta: As the first Indian enterprise investing in Vinh Phuc province in 2012, over the past decade, we have always committed to serving the customers wholeheartedly and have many charitable activities in order to contribute to the comprehensive development of the whole community.

As the leading auto component manufacturer, Spark Minda Vietnam produces locks and wiring assemblies for the customers such as Yamaha, Piaggio, Kawasaki and Suzuki. We have won the trust of our customers owing to the quality of our products and time bound delivery. The products are distributed in the domestic market of Vietnam and exported to countries such as Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, and China. We have big plans for 2023. The year has been earmarked for a couple of first moves like launching Spark Minda Technological Products in the ASEAN market. Spark Minda plans to enter the 4W market and introduce the Next Gen Keyless Entry systems. We are ready to expand our footprint and further grow the existing family of more than 300 employees in the coming new years.

Reporter: After living in Vietnam, how do you feel about our Tet? Could you please share about Spark Minda’s activities on this occasion?

Mr. Sarvesh Gupta: Tet or Vietnamese New Year is a special and exciting time for all of us. The festival signifies the arrival of spring, which calls for reunions and coming together to celebrate and rejoice. That is exactly what Spark Minda did! The employees are our biggest strength and Tet is the best time to connect us. Truly soaked in the spirit of the festival, Spark Minda family celebrated Tet 2023 through many activities such as celebrating together, sharing gifts, bringing good wishes and enjoying the hearty party.

We always attach great importance to the physical and mental health of our employees. The employee care regimes have always been one part of the company's building initiatives. Yearly, we organize meetings with our people and their family members, arrange periodic health checks for 100% of them. The company also has the program of rewarding and presenting gifts to all of our members during the year, especially in the traditional Tet holiday.

Reporter: As we know, Spark Minda is one of the businesses very active in charity activities, could you please share more about these activities and the plans in the coming time?

Mr. Sarvesh Gupta: Spark Minda truly believes that the dedication to the society will contribute to the socio - economic development of the nation. During the past time, we have actively carried out charitable initiatives. While the pandemic has impacted the outreach significantly, we would like to recount the last CSR activity anchored by the company was in cooperation with Indian Embassy in Vietnam and Bhagwan Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS) NGO, India. The project helped more than 500 people with free prosthetic legs. The team also facilitated fees for disable people Vinh Phuc and Phu Tho. In which, Spark Minda supported the total expense of VND 700 million. Besides, for the past years, we have also organized many other activities such as coordinating with local charity clubs to donate warm clothes to disadvantaged children in highland; giving gifts to disadvantaged households in Huong Canh town on holidays and Tet; supporting rice for the families of employees in difficult circumstances affected by the Covid-19 epidemic; coordinating with the Department of Foreign Affairs to present Tet gifts to the poor in the province...

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities for the group are led by Spark Minda Foundation, under the able leadership and guidance of its Chairman, Ms. Sarika Minda. Empowering the communities in and around the location of our plant is one of the key focus areas. Going forward we’ll continue to build the momentum of our CSR initiatives and fulfill our endeavour to transform more lives.

Being the first Indian enterprise in Vinh Phuc, Spark Minda not only contributes to the job placement and the development of Vinh Phuc, but also promotes the strategic partnership between Vietnam and India.
